International Relations and Student Manager
During my time at school I already decided to spend some time abroad in order to gain new experiences far away from home and in a different cultural environment. My choice back then was a small high school in Timaru, New Zealand. A wonderful warm-hearted host family and new friendships made my time abroad an unforgettable adventure.
This experience awoke my desire to explore another country in Oceania: Australia! During my Master studies in Literature, Culture and Media Studies with focus on English-speaking countries at the University of Siegen, Germany, I also studied a semester at the University of Technology, Sydney. Especially the combination of continuing my academic career and having the opportunity to live abroad and travel made my stay a unique time. The high academic standards at Australian universities in general accompanied by the astonishing opportunities of a cosmopolitan city like Sydney and the incredible Australian nature have only fueled my enthusiasm for traveling even further. Whether it is scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef, driving a 4x4 at Fraser Island, camping next to koalas and kangaroos along the Great Ocean Road or discovering the multiple events in the vibrant metropolis Sydney, these are just a few among a variety of adventures I will always remember.
Every single stay in a foreign country has enriched my life and I hope to provide the best possible support for our students to make their study abroad experience as unique and carefree as mine.
