Online classes during Covid-19 at National University

After my first month is slowly coming to an end, I have to admit that the organization of the online classes of National University is way better than I expected.

At the beginning, it is still quite difficult to find your way around, but after a very short time you will notice that the overall structure of the various portals, especially the Blackboard, is very good. You can find everything you are looking for. And much of it is very self-explanatory, which of course makes the process easier.

What I can strongly recommend is to regularly look at the announcements in Blackboard, because that’s where the professor usually posts his comments regarding availability or postponement of deadlines. Especially for the accessibility of the professors it is important: my first professor for example, has sent us his private email address in advance, because we can connect with him easier this way. He prefers that we sent him an email to his private account, if we have any questions. This information was very helpful, but unfortunately it took me a while to understand where to find it.

However, after looking at the portals, I can now say with certainty that they are very structured! The course is divided into weeks and in my case each week looked almost the same, there were discussions, reflective essays and a case study every week. Last but not least, every Friday there was a small quiz which was graded immediately. Of course you had to teach yourself some things, but the book that goes with it is very easy to work with. I would say that despite online classes and only a little bit of contact with my fellow classmates, I learned a lot in this course, which I am very happy about.
