Online courses during a semester abroad

The U.S. Department of Immigration only grants visas to full-time students. It is only possible in exceptional cases to enroll in 1-2 courses online during the semester abroad. The home university must agree that online courses can be transferred. If confirmed, students must meet the following visa requirements:

1. You may not take two consecutive courses online. There must always be a classroom course in between.

2. You are not allowed to take the first or the last course online. However it is possible to start your study abroad semester with an online class as long as you take this online class while you are still staying in your home country. The same applies to the last class – if you leave the US early, you are able to take the last class online from your home country.

National University’s online programs provide academic expertise using state-of-the-art technologies. Students may work from home or join an online discussion forum. Online programs are available around the clock – seven days a week — so you can complete course work on your schedule. Online courses are interactive and tailored to your individual learning style. Emails and chat forums between you, your fellow students, and your instructors offer you the same study experience you would gain in a traditional seminar room.
