This also applies to shared content or likes.<\/li>\n

Under Executive Order 14188, visas can be revoked if students make public antisemitic statements – the definition of antisemitism may follow the US interpretation, which can be based on, for example, the IHRA definition.<\/pee>What does this mean for German students?<\/strong>Freedom of speech is a valuable asset, but in the USA, there are limits, especially in the context of visa regulations.<\/pee><\/p>\n<\/p>\n- Recommendation:<\/strong> Inform yourself about the US definition and perception of antisemitism. This may differ from the German debate.<\/li>\n

The USA allows international graduates an extended stay after their studies to gain practical work experience under the “Optional Practical Training” (OPT) program.<\/pee>What does this mean for German students?<\/strong>This is a very positive development<\/span> and a great advantage of studying in the US!<\/pee><\/p>\n<\/p>\n- After successful graduation (Bachelor, Master, PhD), German students with an F-1 visa can apply for a work permit in the USA:\n
<\/p>\n- Up to 12 months<\/span> for most fields of study.<\/li>\n
<\/p>\n
- Up to 36 months<\/span> (12 months initial + 24 months STEM Extension) for graduates in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).<\/li>\n

- OPT offers the chance to gain valuable work experience in the USA, apply specialized knowledge, and expand professional networks.<\/li>\n
