Often times, the first question that pops up is \u201chow can the adventure study abroad be financed?\u201d The cost of studying abroad, especially in English-speaking countries, are considerably higher than in Germany. Following, we have put together some helpful information for you to find successful financing strategies for your study abroad experience.<\/p>\n

Financing Your Semester abroad: Scholarships offered by the International Student Office<\/h2>\n

Students who organize and complete their semester abroad through our European office can apply for one of our partial scholarships. The partial scholarships are tied to producing creative student stories, filming videos or posting content on Facebook\/ Instagram which will be used for marketing purposes and as a source of information for future students.<\/p>\n

Here you can find more information on our scholarships.<\/a> The call for applications usually takes place 6 months before the start of the term, i.e. the call for applications for fall semester will take place in spring of the same year, and the call for applications for the semester in spring will take place in the previous autumn.<\/p>\n

Financing your Semester abroad: Student Loans<\/h2>\n

Students also have the opportunity to finance their study abroad term with a loan. Here you will find more information about special educational loans that you can apply for when planning to study abroad.<\/p>\n

Ich bin \u00fcbergl\u00fccklich, dass ich diesen Schritt gegangen bin! Warum das Auslandsstudium am ICMS in Australien so eine tolle Lebenserfahrung f\u00fcr mich ist? Ganz einfach: Nirgendwo auf der Welt hat man die M\u00f6glichkeit, diesen wundersch\u00f6nen Kontinent kennen zu lernen und gleichzeitig das Flair auf einem Schloss zu genie\u00dfen, in dem die Uni und die On-Campus-Accommodation untergebracht sind. Das ist wirklich etwas ganz besonderes.<\/p>\n

Das Auslandssemester an der VIU ist eine tolle Lebenserfahrung, weil man hier die M\u00f6glichkeit geboten bekommt, an einem der sch\u00f6nsten Orte der Welt viele interessante neue Leute kennenzulernen und interkulturelle Freundschaften zu kn\u00fcpfen. Die VIU ist der perfekte Ausgangsort, um neben dem Studium die Gegend zu erkunden \u2013 sei es durch selbst organisierte Wochenendausfl\u00fcge oder durch das riesige Angebot der Uni.<\/p>\n

An Kanada beeindruckt mich vor allem die Offenheit der Menschen, die bei nahezu jeder Begegnung mit den \u201eEinheimischen\u201c zum Vorschein kommt, sodass man kaum Probleme hat, sich an das neue Land anzupassen und sich dort wohl zu f\u00fchlen. Ich f\u00fchle mich hier so wohl, dass ich aus Deutschland eingentlich gar nichts vermissen w\u00fcrde, wenn ich hier bleiben m\u00fcsste (bzw. d\u00fcrfte), au\u00dfer meiner Familie.<\/p>\n

Das Studium an der National University war eine tolle Lebenserfahrung, da ich eine neue Art des Unterrichts kennengelernt habe, die mir selbst neue Wege des Lernens er\u00f6ffnet hat.<\/p>\n

Pers\u00f6nlich hat mir die Betreuung an der National University sehr gut gefallen. Ob Fragen zu Kursen, Visum (Aufenthalt in Mexiko), wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten oder Hilfestellungen f\u00fcr Bewerbungen f\u00fcr weiterf\u00fchrende Studieng\u00e4nge oder Jobs durch das Career Center \u2013 man hat immer ein offenes Ohr gefunden und die \u2018Student Advisors\u2018 waren stets um eine L\u00f6sung bem\u00fcht.<\/p>\n

Finanzierung Auslandssemester<\/h1>

Um den Wunsch des Auslandstudiums realisieren zu k\u00f6nnen, sollten einige Dinge im Voraus geplant und organisiert werden. H\u00e4ufig stellt sich zuerst die Frage: Wie kann das Ganze finanziert werden? In vielen L\u00e4ndern sind die Kosten eines Studiums, z.B. durch Geb\u00fchren, erheblich h\u00f6her als in Deutschland. Daher haben wir im Folgenden einige Informationen zusammengestellt um Sie bei der Suche nach der passenden Finanzierung Ihres Auslandsstudiums zu unterst\u00fctzen.<\/p>

Finanzierung Auslandssemester: Stipendien unseres B\u00fcros<\/h2>

Studierende, die \u00fcber unser deutsches B\u00fcro ihr Auslandssemester organisieren und absolvieren, k\u00f6nnen sich bei uns f\u00fcr Teilstipendien bewerben und schreiben daf\u00fcr Erfahrungsberichte. Hier finden Sie weitere Informationen zu unseren Stipendien<\/a>. Die Ausschreibung findet i.d.R. 6 Monate vor Starttermin statt, d.h. die Ausschreibung f\u00fcr den Herbst erfolgt im Fr\u00fchjahr zuvor, die Ausschreibung f\u00fcr das Fr\u00fchjahr jeweils im vorangegangenen Herbst.<\/p>

Finanzierung Auslandssemester: AuslandsBAf\u00f6G<\/h2>

Finanzielle Unterst\u00fctzung k\u00f6nnen Sie auch durch das AuslandsBAf\u00f6G erhalten. Das deutsche\u00a0 <\/span>Bundesausbildungsf\u00f6rderungsgesetz, kurz BAf\u00f6G, erm\u00f6glicht die finanzielle F\u00f6rderung einer individuellen Ausbildung. Grunds\u00e4tzlich gilt, wenn Sie InlandsBAf\u00f6G erhalten, haben Sie i.d.R. auch Anspruch auf Auslandsbaf\u00f6g und selbst wenn Sie kein InlandsBAf\u00f6G bekommen sollten, kommen Sie m\u00f6glicherweise f\u00fcr AuslandsBAf\u00f6G in Betracht, da hier h\u00f6here F\u00f6rderungss\u00e4tze gelten.
