Student Visa National University<\/h2>\n

In order to study abroad in the USA, European students are required to attain a visa of category F-1. Students holding this type of visa are eligible to be enrolled at a university in the USA full time and to live abroad for the course of their studies and an additional \u201cgrace period\u201d. The duration of your visa depends on the duration of your study program abroad. National University\u2019s innovative one-course-per-month format allows for flexible start dates throughout the year \u2013 the duration of your visa will be adapted accordingly. The additional \u201cgrace period\u201d enables you to arrive up to 30 days prior to the start date of your visa and to stay up to 60 days after you finished your program at National University, and is mostly used to travel the USA.<\/p>\n

F-1 Visa – How to Apply?<\/h2>\n

As soon as your application documents are complete and National University\u2019s evaluation of your files has been completed, you will receive the so-called I-20 via postal mail. This visa related form encloses all relevant data about your study program, your future university abroad, and your personal information, and is your official proof of enrollment at National University. You will be asked to provide your I-20 during your appointment at the US embassy when applying for your visa. Students are required to apply for their visa online and are invited for an interview and document check at an embassy of the USA in their country of residence.<\/p>\n

The online application process entails questions on your plans for studying and living in the USA as well as questions on personal data, past travels, reason for your visit in the USA and your contact details abroad. You will most likely be asked when you intend to return to your country of residence. Before you schedule your interview, make sure you have paid the visa application fee as well as your SEVIS fee online.<\/p>\n

Firstly, fill out form DS-160 (visa application form) online and print out the digital version for your reference. Pay your SEVIS fee in the next step. You can find your SEVIS number on the upper right hand side of your I-20 form. You will be asked to schedule your visa appointment in the next step. Upon successful evaluation of all documents and I-20 and a short interview you will receive your visa via postal mail within 10 to 12 days, which is a fee-based service. ATTENTION!<\/strong> Holding an F-1 visa allows you to study in the USA on a full time basis, but does not enable you to work in the USA next to your studies or to complete a paid internship.<\/p>\n

Visum USA\u00a0<\/h1>

Um in den USA studieren zu k\u00f6nnen, ben\u00f6tigen internationale Studierende ein sogenanntes F-1 Visum. Dieses Visum erlaubt es den Studierenden als Vollzeitstudent an einer amerikanischen Universit\u00e4t eingeschrieben zu sein sowie vor Ort zu leben. Der Zeitraum des Visums ist abh\u00e4ngig von der L\u00e4nge des Studiums im Ausland. Durch das innovative \u201eEin-Kurs-pro-Monat-System\u201c an der National University<\/a> wird das Visum auch dementsprechend flexibel dem Zeitraum des Auslandsstudiums angepasst. In der Regel haben Studenten zus\u00e4tzlich noch eine sogenannte \u201egrace period\u201c, in der sie vor bzw. nach ihrem Studium noch in den USA verbleiben k\u00f6nnen. Diese \u201egrace period\u201c bel\u00e4uft sich auf 30 Tage vor Studienbeginn und 60 Tage nach Studienende, die oftmals zum Reisen verwendet werden.<\/p>

Visum USA - Wie bewerbe ich mich?<\/h2>

Sobald die Bewerbungsunterlagen vollst\u00e4ndig eingereicht und die Evaluierung der National University abgeschlossen ist, erhalten die Studenten das sogenannte I-20 postalisch zugeschickt. Dieses einwanderungsrelevante Dokument dient als offizielle Zusage f\u00fcr einen Studienplatz und wird anschlie\u00dfend bei der amerikanischen Botschaft zur Beantragung des Visums vorgelegt. Die offizielle Beantragung sowie Bezahlung des Visums erfolgt zun\u00e4chst eigenst\u00e4ndig online durch die Studenten und wird mit einem Interview auf einer der drei amerikanischen Botschaften in Deutschland (Frankfurt, M\u00fcnchen, Berlin) abgeschlossen.<\/p>

Das Online-Verfahren beinhaltet die \u00fcblichen einwanderungsrelevanten Fragen, sowie Pers\u00f6nliche Daten, fr\u00fchere Reise ins Ausland, Zweck und Anschrift im Ausland, geplante R\u00fcckreise etc. und erfordert au\u00dferdem im selben Schritt bereits die Zahlung der Visumsgeb\u00fchren. Hierbei muss zuerst ein sogenanntes DS-160 Formular beantragt und erstellt werden, welches ben\u00f6tigt wird um den eigentlichen Antrag des Visums zu stellen. Nach diesem Online-Verfahren werden die Studenten gebeten sich einen Termin auf der ihnen am n\u00e4chsten gelegenen amerikanischen Botschaft zu vereinbaren. Nach Durchsicht aller Unterlagen, der Vorlage des I-20 und einem kurzen Interview erhalten die Studierenden dann ihr Visum USA postalisch von der Botschaft.<\/p>

WICHTIG!<\/strong> Dieses F-1 Visum USA berechtigt deren Tr\u00e4ger ausschlie\u00dflich zum Studieren in den USA, jedoch ist es hierbei nicht m\u00f6glich neben dem Studium zu arbeiten oder ein bezahltes Praktikum zu machen.<\/p>
