But at some point you face the question: am I here just for studying or do I want to spend this lovely sunny Saturday at a historical place and discover the nature around Vancouver? :)<br \/>\nI remembered an impressive picture of a huge suspension bridge shown in a presentation during orientation week; it is called Capilano Bridge, one of the must-seen tourist attractions since 125 years.<\/p>\n<h2>Capilano Bridge &#8211; How to get there<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_1_Tina-Marie-Heinrich.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-27671\" src=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_1_Tina-Marie-Heinrich-169x300.jpg\" alt=\"Capilano bridge_1_Tina-Marie Heinrich\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_1_Tina-Marie-Heinrich-169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_1_Tina-Marie-Heinrich-576x1024.jpg 576w, https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_1_Tina-Marie-Heinrich.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 169px) 100vw, 169px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So how can we get there from Nanaimo?\u00a0 First of all, ask some of your fellow students or friends to join you, because it is much more fun to share the fear of the bridge and the breathtaking view over the valley. So far, so good. Now, you and your friends are taking the ferry from Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) and enjoy a beautiful morning on the ocean.<br \/>\nOnce you arrive, look for the bus number 257 to get downtown and from there, catch the free shuttle bus which will take you in 15 minutes to Capbridge Park. But be aware, the bus ride downtown takes about 45 minutes so alternatively, you and your friends can just share a cab. It takes about 15 minutes and 35 bucks of your pocket money but saves you time ;-)<br \/>\nNow you are at the entrance and hopefully, the park fees will not take your breath away. It seems quite expensive at first, but you will get a discount with your VIU student ID and enjoy an amazing experience.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Capilano Bridge \u2013 Discover the Rainforest<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_3_Tina-Marie-Heinrich.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-27676\" src=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_3_Tina-Marie-Heinrich-169x300.jpg\" alt=\"Capilano bridge_3_Tina-Marie Heinrich\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_3_Tina-Marie-Heinrich-169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_3_Tina-Marie-Heinrich-576x1024.jpg 576w, https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Capilano-bridge_3_Tina-Marie-Heinrich.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 169px) 100vw, 169px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nCapbridge Park provides many attractions and it is up to you if you start with the cliff walk (I should mention at this point that you are better not afraid of heights) or walk over the bridge which will lead you to the other park attractions.<br \/>\nYour first step on the bridge might be scary and it shakes a bit but do not make the mistake and run off; instead, take your time and enjoy the walk. You can even enjoy the bridge and the other park attractions when it is rainy; a free rain poncho is available for everyone.<br \/>\nOnce you arrived on the other side, you have several options where to go next. There is the treetop adventure, a nature path and many other attractions to explore; all within the rainforest.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Capbridge Park &#8211; A few helpful tips<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And finally, I would like to share two secrets with you: do not forget your camera and get your annual pass for free at the exit. It is normally limited to B. C. residents but you will get it with your VIU student ID as well\u2026Shall I give you some of the advantages? You only pay once and you have free admission for one year, your friends get 15 % off and you get some discounts within the park, e. g. for food and beverage.
