Management of Wine Industries \u2013 A Course Review<\/h1>\n

Are you looking for a fun, interesting course which also provides a great opportunity to broaden your horizon? And are you interested in wine or at least, you like having a glass of wine from time to time? In this case, you will definitely like the following course I would like to introduce to you:
\nManagement of Wines Industries (MGMT 252).<\/p>\n

What to expect from MGMT 252<\/h2>\n

\"Wine<\/a>
\nWell, if you think now \u201cwhat a great opportunity to get drunk every week\u201d, I have to say: sorry, you will not. However, you will still not be disappointed by this course. So let me tell you a bit more about what to expect:
\nYou will have several opportunities to taste different wines, from B. C. Canada and worldwide, including Champagne and also fortified wines, such as Madeira. The total value of all you tasting wines is about 500 CAD and you only pay a lab fee of 25 CAD for it. You will learn about the professional tasting approach, train your taste buds and learn about matching food. At the end of the course, you will be able to taste different flavors and know what tannin is and where it comes from.
\nOf course, you will also have quite a lot of theory, such as history of wines, New and Old World, process of distillation etc. And for sure, you will learn more about the management of a winery and a vineyard and you will benefit from the experiences of the instructor.<\/p>\n

Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET)<\/h2>\n

\"Fortified<\/a>
\nIn addition, the course enables you to take the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 1 certificate for about 70 CAD at VIU. This certificate is worldwide recognized and can be very helpful for people in the hospitality industry or the wine industry itself.
\nThe course itself has two exams; each with multiple choice questions. Moreover, students will have to write a wine report about a chosen varietal, a region report and presentation will be done as a group work and finally, three in-class exercises have to be handed it. It might sound like quite a lot to do but be assured, you can still take it as a course for relaxing. However, you still need to take it as serious as all your other courses and you should try not to miss any classes because you do not want to miss any tasting opportunities :)<\/p>\n

And be prepared to purchase specific and required wine tasting glasses at the bookstore for about 25 CAD – but the instructor will give you further information on it. All in all, I highly recommend this course to everyone who would like to know more about wines and the management of wine industries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
