I went there several times and there is one significant difference to German cities: Everything is just bigger. Bigger houses, bigger cars, even bigger coffee cups! At first I felt like Jack, when he went up to the giant\u2019s world, but I adjusted really quickly. \u201cVancouverianer\u201d are really nice and are always trying to help you as much as they can.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The downsides<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7362_klein.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-30841\" src=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7362_klein-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7362_klein\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7362_klein-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7362_klein-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7362_klein-1080x1620.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7362_klein.jpg 1872w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The downsides of the big city are the many homeless people, who are living on the street. There are living a lot of young people on the streets, normally those with a drug problem. Even pregnant women and really old men are sleeping on the pavement. Usually they don\u2019t bother you, if you walk by, but sometimes they do ask you if you have some coins for them. They even take half eaten bagels, out of desperation. When it was already really cold a friend of mine and me bought a winter sweater for one old man, who wore just some pants and was shivering all over his body. Homeless people in Vancouver are always really very thankful, if they get anything from you and they almost won\u2019t stop thanking you.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ice Hockey<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nCanadians are really into ice hockey and Vancouver has it\u2019s own team- the Vancouver Canucks! To go to a game was a real highlight. Even though one ticket costs about 120 CAN $ it was totally worth it. The atmosphere was awesome and the show (you can\u2019t really call it normal game, but rather a show) was one of a kind. Even though Ice Hockey is just the legal way of grown-up men punching each other, I clearly became a big fan of the Vancouver Canucks. GO CANUCKS!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Downtown<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nAlso Downtown and the different malls are a great advantage of Vancouver. At least for my shopping addiction and me :) The malls are gigantic, like the whole city. And even for shopping-haters they offer a lot of different things, like food courts and game corners.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">So much to offer&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7299_klein.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-30836\" src=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7299_klein-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7299_klein\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7299_klein-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7299_klein-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.international-student-office.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_7299_klein-1080x720.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nVancouver has just so much to offer, and I tried to see it all. My sister and I went to the Anthropology Museum to see all the different tribes. I\u2019ve also been to Stanley Park, which is almost as nice as Central Park in New York, and saw the huge Totems, which are standing in the heart of the Park. I\u2019ve also been to the Vancouver Aquarium, which used to be bigger, at least 10 years ago when I was 14 years old. But I would rather spend my time somewhere else, like the Suspension Bridge or the Suspension Park, where you can visit wild salmon and their attempt to swim up the rivers. Vancouver is going to be my last stop, before I am going home.
