Student report by Jenny G. – Traveling on the East Coast<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wilmington itself is a tourist destination which is very popular during the summer. Especially the beach, which is only a few minutes away from campus is a very good selling point for spending time in Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach.\u00a0<\/span>But other beautiful destinations are also very close and therefore it is very tempting to explore the east coast on the weekend or during holidays. Whether you want to go to Miami or New York City, an unforgettable trip and popular destinations are only a few hours away.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

If you are planning on doing a road trip it is always a nice idea to ask other people if they want to join. International students in my experience are very open to spontaneous get aways and it is a great way for not only saving money by splitting costs but also getting to know some people better and forming lasting relationships and memories.\u00a0<\/span>A lot of peers who travelled there during the semester highly suggested seeing New York City before we fly back home and that\u2019s what we did. After classes at UNCW end you usually have a month left on your visa that enables you to explore the country you called home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Two of my friends and I flew to Boston for a few days before heading to New York City via Flixbus.\u00a0<\/span>Eventhough we had a lot of luggage, taking the bus was a very comfortable and cheap alternative to flying and I can highly suggest it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Harvard University Campus<\/p><\/div>\n

In Boston we visited the Famous campuses of Harvard and the MIT. The Public Library there is also a very impressive and beautiful building. If you are interested in museums I would suggest going to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and exploring the Institute of Contemporary Art.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

At the Boston Common Frog Pond you can take a stroll in the beautiful park and enjoy some ice skating during the winter.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

New York City<\/span><\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

Top of the Rock<\/p><\/div>\n

In New York City we stayed at a Hotel near Times Square which made pretty much every attraction in the City easily accessible. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

We were able to see some of the highlights this place has to offer including Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Grand Central Station, as well as Chinatown, 5th Avenue and the Rockefeller Center.\u00a0<\/span>If you want to enjoy the view from Top of The Rock it is worth it to wait for the sunset on a non cloudy day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Close to the Rockefeller Center you can enjoy some authentic American food at Bill\u2019s Bar& Burger Restaurant, which concluded the perfect ending for our trip.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
