Study Abroad Scholarship USA: Semester Abroad

Students planning to spend a semester abroad at the University of North Carolina Wilmington or Westcliff University in the USA have the opportunity to apply for one of our partial scholarships again this year.

The scholarship winners will support the International Student Office during their stay abroad with personal experience reports as well as photo and social media posts.

Scholarship University of North Carolina Wilmington

Spring semester (starting in January):

1 × partial scholarship worth 2,000 EUR

Fall semester (starting in August):

1 × housing scholarship worth USD 5,000 for fall 2026. Housing costs are covered for one semester in the following accommodations at UNCW: University Suites, Seahawk Crossing, Seahawk Landing, Seahawk Village and College Acres Cottages.

Scholarship Westcliff University

Spring (start of studies between January and June):

1 × partial scholarship worth 1,000 EUR

Fall (start of studies between July and November):

1 × partial scholarship worth 1,000 EUR

USA Scholarship Requirements

You are qualified for a scholarship if:

You are completing a fee-based semester abroad at the University of North Carolina Wilmington or Westcliff University during the specified periods.
You have applied for a place at the University of North Carolina Wilmington or Westcliff University through the International Student Office and have been successfully enrolled.
You are willing to accompany us during your semester abroad as a student content creator, providing photo and video contributions.

USA Scholarship Application

Please send your scholarship application for a semester abroad in the spring by November 15 and in the fall by June 15 by email to your contact person at the International Student Office or to marketing@iso-mail.org.

Required application documents for a Westcliff University scholarship:

Curriculum Vitae (CV) with photo in English
Letter of motivation or video in English (minimum 500 words) on one of the following topics:
- “What to expect from a study abroad period at Westcliff University?”

Required application documents for a UNCW scholarship:

Curriculum Vitae (CV) with photo in English
Short application video in English (1:30 to max. 4:00 minutes) giving a brief impression of yourself and your expectations for your semester abroad at UNCW. Please also explain how you would like to share your experiences at UNCW with us (e.g. photos, videos, reels of trips or highlights).

The winners will be notified of all scholarship decisions by email in mid-December (spring) or mid-July (fall). Creativity wins!
