Study start and duration of study

At the University of North Carolina Wilmington, the academic year is divided into two semesters of 4 months each. So there are two possible starting dates every year, in January and in August.

The semester begins with two orientation days, during which new students get to know the impressive and expansive UNCW campus, as well as their fellow students and professors, and have lots of fun with many fun activities.

The next possible start dates are:

Fall 2023:

  • First day of class: August 23, 2023

  • End of classes: December 14, 2023

Spring 2024:

  • First day of class: January 10, 2024

  • End of classes: May 7, 2024
