Study start and duration of study
At the University of North Carolina Wilmington, the academic year is divided into two semesters of 4 months each. So there are two possible starting dates every year, in January and in August.
The semester begins with two orientation days, during which new students get to know the impressive and expansive UNCW campus, as well as their fellow students and professors, and have lots of fun with many fun activities.

By the way, UNCW students are allowed to work on campus – there are over 1000 student jobs. So you can supplement the pocket money for study abroad and invest it in recreational activities. Experience the typical American university flair as seen on the cinema screen: At UNCW students live on campus – either in apartments or rooms. Sports facilities, parks, the cinema, 16 restaurants, the cafeteria, the book store and the large library are nearby and easily accessible through campus. One of the most popular surfing beaches, Wrightsville Beach, is just minutes from the campus and offers students plenty of recreational opportunities.
