Financing your semester abroad
You are dreaming of spending a semester abroad? For your dream to come true, some things should be planned and organized in advance. Often times, the first question that pops up is “how can the adventure study abroad be financed?” The cost of studying abroad, especially in English-speaking countries, are considerably higher than in Germany. Following, we have put together some helpful information for you to find successful financing strategies for your study abroad experience.
Financing Your Semester abroad: Scholarships offered by the International Student Office
Students who organize and complete their semester abroad through our European office can apply for one of our partial scholarships. The partial scholarships are tied to producing creative student stories, filming videos or posting content on Facebook/ Instagram which will be used for marketing purposes and as a source of information for future students.

The call for applications usually takes place 6 months before the start of the term, i.e. the call for applications for fall semester will take place in spring of the same year, and the call for applications for the semester in spring will take place in the previous autumn.
Financing your Semester abroad: Student Loans
Students also have the opportunity to finance their study abroad term with a loan. Here you will find more information about special educational loans that you can apply for when planning to study abroad.
