International Relations & Student Manager
My name is Svenja Preker and since May 2018 I am working here at the International Student Office in Darmstadt. Before I joined the team, I already worked in the management and customer service of an American service provider. Additionally I worked as a project manager in the fields of content and online marketing.
Since my early childhood travelling is a big part of my life and I try to spend as much time as possible to get to know new countries and cultures. During my time in school I already participated in exchange programs (Finland) and language classes abroad (England and Ecuador). Thanks to my studies in International Cultural and Business Studies at the University of Passau I learned a lot about international and intercultural subjects and theories. Studying North American Studies as master’s degree at the University of Bonn, the destination for my second semester abroad was obviously North America, in detail the Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge. Living and studying in the southern states of the US was really an unforgettable experience for me. I got to know lots of nice people, learned very much about the African American history and had the chance to travel a lot during and after the semester.
For anyone who wants to broaden his / her horizon, would like to make exciting experiences and likes to get to know people from all over the world, a semester abroad is definitely the right choice!
I’d love to offer you my advice, answer all of your questions and support you during the application process. I look forward to hearing from you!
