The city San Diego is located right next to the Pacific Ocean, with mountains and a desert in the county offering a variety of opportunities to spend your spare time. The next 15 points show you what you can do for free or almost for free to have a nice and varied time in San Diego.

1. Go to one of San Diego’s beach areas. They are all free; offer Watersport activities and nice places to just enjoy a sunny day.
2. Enjoy the Sunset at La Jolla Cove, a tiny little bay of sandstone cliffs. This place is just wonderful and a famous place for tourists.
3. Walk along Seaport Village and enjoy the quiet place while watching the yachts or shopping in one of the small stores.
4. Visit the historic gas lamp quarter and see the restored Victorian houses.
5. Go to Old Town and get in touch with San Diego’s history.
6. Participate in a free astronomy-class every first Wednesday a month at the Reuben H. Feet Science Center at Balboa Park. Highlight is the huge telescope to observe the stars.
7. Visit one of San Diego’s free concerts every Sunday at Balboa Park. Spreckel’s Organ Pavilion with one of the world’s largest outdoor organs welcomes visitors Sundays at 2pm.
8. Go on a short day trip to Julian. This small city in the mountains is well known for its apple pies.
9. Have a bonfire at one of San Diego’s beaches.
10. Go diving or snorkeling at one of San Diego’s coasts. Especially La Jolla Cove offers very clear water and a protected underwater world.

12. Go on a day trip to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park; Americas largest of its kind.
13. Drive along the San Diego Scenic Drive, an almost 60 miles long way along all important places of San Diego. Just follow the Blue and Yellow sings with a seagull.
14. Go on a day trip to Tijuana Mexico.
15. Spend a day at Belmont Park at Mission Beach and ride the wooden rollercoaster or watch other people riding artificial waves at the Wavehouse.
