Our UNCW Ambassadors introduce themselves:

Justus H
UNCW Ambassador 2025
Dear future Seahawk,
My name is Justus, I am 21 years old and I am studying for a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Münster. I spent my semester abroad in Fall Term 2024 at UNCW – and it was one of the best experiences of my life!
During my semester, I took four economics courses:
– Project Management
– Principles of Operations Management
– International Operations Management
– International Management
The class sizes (7–25 students) were manageable, making it easy to establish direct contact with the professors. One highlight was our visit to the Port of Wilmington as part of the International Operations Management course.
But it wasn't just academically that my time at UNCW shaped me; it was also outside of lectures. The campus is lively and diverse: the huge fitness and sports center is only a few minutes' walk from the apartments. And of course, there's Wrightsville Beach – only about 10 minutes away by car or 30 minutes by bike. One of my fondest memories is swimming and surfing in the Atlantic Ocean even in late November after lectures.
Another advantage: the airport in Wilmington has great connections. This made it easy for me to take weekend trips to New York, Miami, or even Los Angeles (with a layover). The combination of studying, campus life, and leisure activities makes Wilmington unique. Whether surfing until sunset, sporting events on campus, country concerts, or weekend trips—during my semester, I experienced so much and made many new friends.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have about studying, campus life, or life in Wilmington and the US. Even if you just want to hear a few impressions, you can always reach me by email (justus.hassel@gmx.de) or on Instagram (justus_hassel).
Go, Seahawks!
Best regards, I look forward to hearing from you!
Justus
